Welcome to the New Educator Institute for 2014! Please refer to the schedule below and register for individual sessions by selecting the "Add to My Sched" link for each session you plan to attend.  All new teachers are required to attend the August 4th Welcome Event, 1 section of The Denver ELA  Program on the day / time of your choice that does not conflict with the curriculum sessions relevant to your role. (Teachers in the DSSN network and other schools that have an early start date are only required to attend August 4th. Other training may be required by your school.)  In addition role specific sessions, there are several "Choice-Based" sessions that you can choose to attend based on your professional interest.

COFFEE AND LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED EVERYDAY!  PLEASE BRING YOUR PERSONAL LAPTOPS TO THE SESSIONS BEGINNING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 5TH.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LAPTOP, THERE WILL BE SOME AVAILABLE ON SITE.

Questions?  Concerns?  Contact:  newteachersandmentors@dpsk12.org

For Special Education Teachers and Specialized Service Professionals, please also refer to the following site for further required trainings:  https://sites.google.com/site/dpssspd/2014newhire   (For NEI sessions below, all center-based teachers must take the grade-level offerings below for literacy, math, science, and social studies.  If you teach multiple grade levels, register for the highest grade that you teach. All mild-moderate teachers must take the grade-level offerings below for literacy and math.  If you teach multiple grades, register for the highest grade that you teach with principal approval.  Ensure that you have communicated with your principal prior to registering.)

PLEASE NOTE:  The Denver ELA Program is offered multiple times throughout the week to meet the demand of over 900 new teachers who must complete this session. Please register for only 1 section on 1 specific day either AM or PM.  Every section offered has the same content. It is NOT a multi-day course.   If you participated in the ELA Summer Academy PD session on Friday, June 6th, please verify in SchoolNet that you received credit. If so, you do NOT need to register for The Denver ELA Program during NEI as you have already completed it.
SSP’s do not need to attend this session.
